Strengthening Women’s Economic Resilience in Agriculture
The project focuses on the pro-poor value chain of vegetables and poultry farming along River Sabaki in Magarini and Malindi Sub-counties in Kilifi County. It focuses on working with women as the main producers and enhances their capacity to broaden their market share and value and expand to new areas for better returns.
The project seeks to improve agricultural productivity, increase food security, enhance capacity for assessing climate change impacts and risks in the communities and expand market opportunities for Poultry, Cassava, Chili, Okra, and Amaranth in Kilifi County. CREAW will achieve the above goal by supporting 300 small-holder farmers to self-organize into 20 farmer groups, supporting them to purchase high-quality productive assets and link them to markets both locally and regionally to grow their market share and value.
