Women’s movements have driven global and national action on gender equality. In the grassroots, these movements often have the greatest understanding of the deficiencies that women and girls face, and essential knowledge of how to advance their rights.

As part of resourcing the women’s movement, CREAW partnered with CARE to support 25 nascent Women Rights Organisations (WROs) in various counties in Kenya through the Women Voice Leadership (WVL) program. WVL program builds capacity for WROs through supporting women to take leadership roles and be active in decision making structures/processes; embracing the feminist development principles of inclusion, participation and empowerment in programming; grant-making and supporting intergenerational approach, mentorship and guidance.
